Assessment
This section contains rubrics, links to standards, and information about those standardized tests my students must take. The primary purpose of this section is to post information for my students about how they will be assessed on current or upcoming assignments. I will be updating this regularly.

Projects
Though this could be included under assignments, I prefer to feature the larger projects on their own page.

Exemplars
Students can go to this page for guidance (through examples) of what good work on a given assignment looks like. If, for example, they are giving a presentation or writing about an outside book they read, they can go to this page and find examples from past students.

• Life Study Project: This is the assignment my freshman Honors English classes are working on now; I would do this with any class, at any level from middle school on up. My premise is that students must study the lives of others (not famous but worthy people) to come to a better understand of their own and the life they want to lead. Incorporates lots of research, reading different texts for different purposes, writing, thinking, and discussing.
